Oxygen Administration Training

All divers are strongly advised to undergo training in resuscitation and oxygen provision. The skills developed are extremely valuable, not only in the diving environment, but in all walks of life.

For scuba instructors and dive enthusiasts, DAN offers the world's most popular oxygen first aid program, launched in 1991. Until DAN developed its oxygen training program and line of oxygen equipment, many injured divers did not benefit from the use of emergency oxygen.

In the increasingly litigious environment in which we live, there is now more pressure than ever for diving instructors, dive charter operators, lifeguards and other professionals to ensure that appropriate oxygen equipment and properly trained and qualified oxygen providers are available where diving or certain other activities are conducted, as well as in certain workplaces where hazards exist or ill people may reside.

Oxygen training is available through several first aid training agencies. However, most of these courses are not diver-oriented and/or as well supported with experience, materials and equipment.

DAN has developed an oxygen provider program to provide divers with this important training and this is now the fastest growing and most respected oxygen program for divers, worldwide.

Manual Triggered Ventilator Training

The Manually Triggered Ventilator course is an extension of the Oxygen Administration course using a ventilator to supply 100% oxygen to a non-breathing patient.

Participants must have Oxygen Administration and CPR certifications.

The course consists of a review of Oxygen administration, extensive practical use of the MTV and after use care of the MTV. It is possible for participants to participate in and complete CPR and Oxygen Administration components as additional parts to the MTV course. Participants must be at least 14 years old.

After the competent completion of all of the required skills, you will receive a Statement of Attainment from DAN when the registration procedures have been completed. The program is accredited by State and National government recognition authorities under National Training Recognition Scheme.

Automated External Defbrillation Training

This 4-hr course provides participants with training in the use of AEDs in an emergency medical situation involving suspected cardiac arrest. Participants must have a current CPR qualification. It is possible for participants to participate in and complete a CPR component as an additional part of the AED course. Participants must be at least 14 years old.

The course content covers cardiovascular disease, revision of CPR, defibrillation using an automated external defibrillator (AED), care and maintenance of the AED, and legal considerations.

After the competent completion of all of the required skills, you will receive a Statement of Attainment from DAN when the registration procedures have been completed. The program is accredited by State and National government recognition authorities under National Training Recognition Scheme.
